Who We Are

More than an organization, a family.

Welcome to NSBE GSU! The Georgia Southern Chapter of NSBE was officially chartered in 1992 by Romondo Stewart, a visionary student committed to creating a strong and supportive space for Black engineering students. Today, our chapter continues that legacy by empowering members through study sessions, mentorship, workshops, networking events, and conference opportunities. Whether you’re preparing for internships, building leadership skills, or finding your community in STEM, NSBE GSU is here to help you grow.

Jaylen Monroe

"NSBE GSU has become more than a professional organization to me. It is a family, a support system, and a place where students can grow into the leaders they are meant to become."

I am honored to serve as the 2026–2027 President of NSBE GSU for my second term. My journey began as a general body member and continued through roles as Public Relations Chair and Professional Delegate, each shaping my commitment to this chapter. This year, we are focused on building with purpose, leading with vision, and creating opportunities that help every member grow. Together, we will E.L.E.V.A.T.E.
