Game Day Volunteer Initiative

The Game Day Volunteer Initiative gives members a chance to engage with the local community and support the Georgia Southern Eagles football team. Volunteers assist with event logistics, fan engagement, and other tasks, fostering teamwork, leadership, and connections with students, alumni, and the Statesboro community.

BetterWorldBooks Drive

The BetterWorldBooks Drive invites donations of gently used books, which are sent to support literacy worldwide. This initiative promotes reading and bridges educational gaps, becoming a beloved tradition that fosters collaboration and community spirit on campus.

Buckets for Cans: Campus Basketball Challenge

This campus-wide basketball tournament, organized by NSBE GSU and other student groups, combines friendly competition with a canned food drive for the Statesboro community. It’s a great way to bond with peers and contribute to a meaningful cause.

NSBE GSU Professional Development: Resume & LinkedIn

In partnership with the Office of Career and Professional Development, this program helps members prepare for Career Showcase Week by perfecting resumes and building strong LinkedIn profiles. Students gain valuable insights for securing internships, co-ops, and other career opportunities.

NSBE GSU Hackathon (Fall 2025)

The NSBE GSU Hackathon, coming in Fall 2025, is a fast-paced, team-based event where students tackle real-world challenges using technology. Participants will innovate, showcase their skills, and compete for prizes, fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while inspiring future tech leaders.

NSBE Junior Statesboro Program

Launching in the 2025-2026 academic year, this program introduces middle and high school students to engineering and STEM through workshops, activities, and mentorship. NSBE GSU members aim to inspire the next generation of Black engineers and scientists, empowering young students to pursue STEM careers.
